“Where there is free flow, there is no pain. where there is no free flow, there is pain.”

Acupuncture works, but how?

1

Full intake and diagnosis.

Chinese Medicine is famous for its thorough and lengthy intake process. In addition to an intake form, during appointments there will be further inquiry as well as tongue, pulse and abdominal diagnosis.

2

Personalized treatment plan.

Once settled on what pathological pattern may be at play, we are able to put together a personalized treatment plan.

This treatment plan stays consistent anywhere from 2-5 appointments though the treatment on the day may differ.

3

Allowing the body to respond.

A typical treatment will involve 15-45 minutes for the patient to lay on the table with the acupuncture needles.

This allows the necessary time needed in order to maximize therapeutic effeect.

Ultimately, our bodies are always looking to balance yin and yang- acupuncture is used as a guide.

FAQs

What is Qi?

Qi is one of few Chinese terms that has no direct translation. Qi is a concept that takes time to grasp, but many of you already innately know what it is- it is just difficult to define. Just as it is difficulty to see or grasp at the wind, metabolism, the change of seasons or an atom, it is difficult to see or grasp Qi- but there is no denying it is there and that it has an impact.

How does acupuncture affect Qi?

Qi moves through channels in the body referred to as meridians. Just as wind often moves predictably down certain channels in certain patterns, so does Qi in the body. Of course, unpredictable things happen all the time. With thousands of years of study these unpredictable things have become, more or less, anticipatory through the lens of yin and yang. Acupuncture is a technique used to redirect and re-establish healthy Qi flow in the body. By using fine sterile stainless steel needles as a medium to communicate to the different areas, layers and substances within the body, acupuncture is able to re-align and re-direct pathology back to physiology.

What can acupuncture treat?

Acupuncture is incredible in that a treatment is always available. The effectiveness of the treatment depends on many factors, mainly: severity, duration (both of illness and treatment), concurrent medications, and stress-contributing factors.
As a patient, if you are willing to continue with regular treatment as recommended, are compliant with any other treatment protocols suggested and are serious about your journey towards optimal health, you will see results.
